While this is good for spills that are not too large however, you aren't able to limit the amount of water it is using which can limit its effectiveness on more severe stains. One thing we really like about the 980 is that it uses its iAdapt 2.0 navigation sensors and its visual simultaneous mapping and localisation technology (or vSLAM) to memorise the floor plan of your home. It will then use the information to create an efficient and consistent cleaning path for every cycle. The result is cleaner floors and a more efficient vacuum cleaner than the majority of high-end robots. The 980's other features include two multi-surface rubber brushes which grab dirt from carpet and hard floors, along with an ejector brush that moves debris into the robotic vacuum's bin. The sensor for floor tracking assists it in maneuvering around furniture, along edges and on steps. Cliff Detect prevents the Roomba from falling. It also automatically returns to the base station for easy recharging in between sessions. The bin capacity and battery life of the 980 aren't as good as other robot vacuums. However, it is a solid and reliable machine that will keep floors clean for many hours.
